Details

By restoring and conserving the facades and windows, the courtyard of the Old Convent becomes an important historical document of the entire abbey complex. As a place to showcase and experience fragments and parts of the almost 900-year-old history, the facades of this courtyard should be made aware to the monks, guests, and especially visitors of the abbey tours as one of the oldest courtyard buildings in Styria. The old courtyard should also be a place of peace and contemplation. By its design, paths, and planting, it should make the overlapping historical epochs from the Romanesque to the Gothic and Baroque periods palpable and, above all, "readable" during quiet contemplation.
